The
charloft Cupid Challenge
How's it work? You go to the link above, where a list of six words loosely related to the concept of love will be generated for you. The challenge for this activity is to use as many of them as you can in one piece of fiction, with more points being awarded the shorter the finished piece.
'The shorter?' you say. And yes, I say, the shorter! This challenge rewards precision and economy of language-- it can be surprisingly difficult to use six assigned words in one story, and the difficulty increases when you're trying to do it in, say, the length of a drabble.
My six words: agape, girlfriend, tango, heart attack, frigid, pose
My word count: 97
Siblings
“You did what?” Justin stood staring at his sister, mouth agape.
“I walked in on Dad and his girlfriend doing the horizontal tango and it was like ewww! I swear I thought I’d have a heart attack. And when the frigid bitch saw me… would you believe she actually smirked at me? God, I hate her, she’s such a cow.”
Molly pretended not to care but Justin wasn’t deceived by her nonchalant pose. He took her in his arms, gently kissing her on the cheek.
“You know what I think? She and Dad truly deserve each other.”
